James R. Meyers — Executive Vice President of Worldwide Commercial Operations at Gilead Sciences

Mr. James R. Meyers, also known as Jim, has been an Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations at Gilead Sciences, Inc. since November 16, 2016. Mr. Meyers served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations - North America at Gilead Sciences, Inc. since January 25, 2007 until November 16, 2016. Mr. Meyers was responsible for Gilead's commercial organization in North America, including U.S. and Canadian sales, marketing and commercial operations, its Executive Vice President, Commercial Operations. He joined Gilead in 1996 as a Regional Sales Director and relocated to its headquarters in 1997 to head the HIV marketing team. In 2001, he was named Senior Director of U.S. Sales, overseeing the expansion of Gilead's field sales organization in advance of the launch of its first product for the treatment of HIV. He served as Vice President in 2002 and served as Vice President of the U.S. Commercial organization in 2004. Prior to joining Gilead, Mr. Meyers held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, training, marketing and management with Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and Astra USA. Mr. Meyers holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Boston University.
