What do you like best about the leadership team?

They understand the mission, and try to balance priorities to make the most effective use of our time and capacity to achieve our mission.
The best attribute of our leadership team is their open door policy. They truly encourage openness, mentorship and transparency with everyone in the organization.

The leadership team needs to inspire staff and funders to support GreatSchools vision.
What is the best part about your compensation package?

The company pays almost all of the dental, health, and vision parts of my benefits--it's great!
GreatSchools has a very generous paid time off policy, along with sick leave. They really value teammates having a work/life balance.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Working at nonprofit will always be lower than for-profit companies for a similar role. Its expensive to live in bayarea and compensation matters alot.
What are some of the best things about your team?
they are motivated to make a difference
I've worked with a lot of smart people in my career and my colleagues at GreatSchools are among the smartest and most effective! They are creative, innovative, committed to our vision and always thinking of new ways we can make an impact to help parents and improve education and equity in the US.
My team is driven, professional, they take pride in/ownership of their work, and they are an incredibly caring group of people.
They are agile, smart, and dedicated. Best of all, they're fun!
Everyone is mission-driven and friendly! I love this team.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They need to work on their communication skills and improve their skills.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It's a nice environment to work in and the company supports flexible work hours and work from home policy
Our team is positive, pleasant and committed to our mission. We also all value and respect each other and respect how hard we work while also valuing our work/life balance.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More flat organization. Too many managers.
What did you like most about the interview process?
learning about the challenges of the organization and about expectations for my role

Interviewers should be better planned. Very little process.
What makes you most happy at work?
Hearing great feedback from the parents and working with some great coworkers.
Working with incredibly passionate, intelligent and kind team members.
Working with a great group of people representing many different areas of expertise united around a common goal of empowering parents
