What is Keto?

A Ketogenic diet is high in good fats, moderate in protein, and low in sugars and carbohydrates. This diet helps the body achieve a metabolic state called ketosis, using ketones produced in the liver for energy instead of the usual glucose from carbs. The body works harder to break down ketones and burns more fat.

One box of our 2-Person Plan contains enough ingredients and recipes for 3 dinners that serve 2 people. The 2-Person Plan is offered in the following menus: Plant-Powered, Balanced Living, Paleo, and Keto.

One box of our Family Plan contains enough ingredients and recipes for 2 dinners that serve 4 people. On the Family Plan, you can choose from either Omnivore or Carnivore.

Are you on the 2-Person plan but want enough meals to serve more than 2 people? Dont worry! You can always order 2 or even 3 boxes of any 2-Person Plan. Just go to the Your Plan tab in your account and click Edit Subscription. From there, you can choose between 1, 2, or 3 boxes.

You can easily skip orders on your Green Chef account. Simply visit Your Plan, and click on the week you would like to skip. You'll then select Edit Order, andSkip Order from the drop-down selections. A pop-up will appear for you to confirm. Select Skip Order.

If your plans change, you can always un-skip before your weekly deadline, 7 days prior to delivery at 11:59 pm ET.

You will not be charged for any week(s) you choose to skip.

To change your delivery frequency to monthly or bi-weekly, simply log in to your account and go to Your Plan. Then click on Edit Subscription. You will be able to select if you would like automatic bi-weekly deliveries (every other week) or monthly deliveries (every fourth week), as well as, the Start Date for your new automated schedule. You will receive a delivery on your selected Start Date and then every 2 or 4 weeks thereafter depending on your preferences. We recommend going back to Your Plan to review your upcoming orders, as this change may override any skips you had made previously to your account.

To change your delivery day, simply log in to your account and go to Your Plan.

Then click on Edit Subscription.Youll be able to select your desired Delivery Day from the drop down selection. The delivery day options available depend on your location.

If you would like to change the delivery day for an individual order, simply visit Your Plan, then select the week that you would like to modify from the delivery schedule. Click Edit Order, then click on Modify Order.

Select your desired Delivery Day and click on Save Changes.

Canceling is an easy process, although we do hope you'll change your mind and continue cooking with us! Did you know you can skip up to 5 weeks of orders at a time on the Your Plan section of your Green Chef account? This allows you to pause delivery for any orders you want to skip.

If you decide you want to cancel your account, you can do so by following these steps:

Scroll down to the "Cancel Subscription" button. Click this button and follow the prompts.

We partner with local and regional farms and source in advance so that we can bring those ingredients from the farm to your door. The cutoff to skip a delivery, make any changes to a delivery, or cancel your subscription is 11:59 pm ET, 7 days before your delivery day. For example, if you are set to receive your box on Wednesday, your weekly deadline will be the prior Wednesday at 11:59 pm ET.

You can view the exact cutoff day and time for each weekly order in the Your Plan section of your Green Chef account. To view this, just click on an upcoming week and the cutoff time for modifying or skipping that specific order will be located next to the Edit Order button above the weeks menu.

We feature many different organic ingredients across our meal kits. However, not everything can be certified organic. Did you know that there's no such thing as certified organic sea salt or wild salmon?

Where certified organic ingredients are not available, we focus on sourcing conventional options of the highest quality. All produce in your Green Chef kit is certified organic unless its labeled otherwise. All organic non-produce (such as proteins, pastas, rice, breads and sauces) will be clearly labeled organic with the USDA seal. All our ingredients go through extensive screening to meet our high-integrity ingredient standards.

Green Chef's 2-Person Omnivoreand Family Plans allow for customization of protein preferences. You can opt out of receiving certain proteins, like beef, poultry, pork, lamb, shellfish, fish, or game.

On the 2-Person Balanced Living plan, you can opt out of up to 2 proteins. Since you are able to pick your own recipes on the 2-Person Balanced Living plan, opting out of proteins will ensure these proteins are not selected as your default recipes.You can always change your preferences or modify a single order, but your default selections will not include the proteins you choose to opt out of.

On theFamily Plan, you can opt out of beef, pork, fish, and shellfish. You'll check only the proteins that you want to receive.On the Family Plan, if we are featuring a recipe with a protein you have opted out of, this recipe may be substituted with a Vegetarian dish. Please note,poultry will always be included in the Family Plan.

This number will let you follow your box from its departure until it arrives at your door via one of our trusted shipping partners. We do not require a signature for our boxes, so your Green Chef box will be waiting for you when you get home. Our insulated and refrigerated packaging will ensure your ingredients remain fresh until the end of the day it is delivered. For those seeking lower carbs and calories, we would recommend our Keto Plan, which has on average, the fewest calories and carbs. Each individual serving will range anywhere between 400-600 total calories and contain less than 20 net grams of carbohydrates. Each carefully packed Green Chef box contains premium pre-measured ingredients and easy-to-follow recipes for balanced dishes. We work with our suppliers to source in-season ingredients just for you. Our produce does not spend much time on a shelfwe generally get our ingredients into your home in less time than a grocery store could. Since organic ingredients have no artificial preservatives they can sometimes have a shorter shelf life. However, with our insulated packaging used during transit and your standard refrigerator at home, ingredients will typically stay fresh for five days after arrival.

Note: Recipes containing seafood should be eaten sooner, typicallywithin 3 daysof when your box arrives. Please review our safe food handling tips.

One referral credit is good for $25.

Credits will be automatically applied to future deliveries (credit is not retroactive or refundable).

We encourage our customers to try different meal plans from week to week. To choose a new meal plan or edit your preferences, simply log in to your account, click Edit Subscription. Be sure to make any changes before your weekly deadline, 7 days prior to delivery at 11:59 pm ET. You can change your subscription overall by going to Your Plan and selectingEdit Subscription.

If you would like to change your meal plan for a single delivery, simply log in to your account and follow the below instructions.

Click Your Plan and select an upcoming week from the banner of dates at the top of the page. All of the available menu plans will be listed under Order Something Else?

If you see another menu that you would like to receive, click Get This in the top right-hand corner of that menu.

Click Save Changes.

Are you having company over? You can change the number of boxes you want to receive for that week only.

Click Your Plan.

Select the week that you would like to modify.

Click Edit Order then Modify Order.

Scroll down to No. of Boxes to select the number of boxes you would like to receive.

Select Save Changes.

To change the shipping address on your account, go to the Account Info section within your Green Chef account. Click Edit under Delivery and enter your full shipping address. Dont forget your apartment or unit number. When finished, click Save Changes to update your address.

Be sure to complete any changes prior to the orders deadline (11:59 pm ET, 7 days prior to delivery). If you have missed the deadline for the order that you would like to change the shipping address for, please contact us at [email protected] or call 888-236-7295.

Yes! Were constantly innovating to provide the most eco-friendly packaging available. All of our packaging is made from recyclable, reusable, and/or compostable materials- except where wecan'tget around it for food safety reasons. For example, our tofu is sent in vacuum-sealed plastic wrapping to ensure you get the freshest experience possible with the outstanding flavor that our chefs intended.

Note: Recycling and composting facilities vary depending on where customers live. To find your local recycling options, including where to drop off plastics, go to earth911.org or www.plasticfilmrecycling.org for plastic film.

Cardboard Boxes

What's are they made of?

Your Green Chef box is made of corrugated cardboard, with a minimum of 40% recycled content.

What can I do with them?

Break down your Green Chef box and recycle it with your regular curbside recycling or at your local recycling facility.

Insulation

What's it made of?

ClimaCell is made of a proprietary plant-based insulator that is certified curbside recyclable, with a thin sheet of kraft paper on either side to hold it together.

What can I do with it?

Recycle the ClimaCell with your curbside paper and cardboard recycling, or at your local recycling facility.

Ice Packs

What are they made of?

Our ice packs are filled with soluble, non-toxic gel.

The outer layer is made of #4 plastic film - low-density polyethylene (LDPE).

What can I do with them?

Save them in your freezer and reuse them, or store them at room temperature for later use. You may also be able to donate them to local charitable organizations.

To recycle, simply cut the corner of the pack, drain the non-toxic gel into the garbage, then rinse out the bag and recycle it wherever #4 plastic film is accepted. Make sure the bag is clean and dry before you drop it off. There are easy drop-off programs at most grocery and retail stores you may already visit! Learn more about recycling plastic film here.

Paper Bags

What are they made of?

100% post-consumer recycled paper.

What can I do with them?

If a bag is clean and dry, reuse it or recycle it with your curbside recycling. If it's soiled, you can compost it at home or through your local composting facility.

Plastic Bags

What are they made of?

#4 plastic film - low-density polyethylene (LDPE). We chose this plastic because its recyclable!

What can I do with them?

Reuse clean bags (but be sure to dispose of any bags that have come in direct contact with fish, meat, or animal products). Or recycle them wherever #4 plastic film is accepted. Make sure the bag is clean and dry before you drop it off to recycle. There are easy drop-off programs at most grocery and retail stores you may already visit! Plastic Sauce Packets

What are they made of?

#4 plastic film - low-density polyethylene (LDPE). We chose this plastic because its recyclable!

What can I do with them?

Recycle them wherever #4 plastic film is accepted. Make sure the bag is clean and dry before you drop it off to recycle. There are easy drop-off programs at most grocery and retail stores you may already visit! Learn more about recycling plastic film here.

Small Paperboard Boxes

What are they made of?

100% recycled paperboard.

What can I do with them?

Recycle them with your other cardboard. We have sourced these especially to be fully recyclable! Make sure the outer portion of the container is unsoiled and the inside is clean. If the box is soiled, you can compost it at home or through your local composting facility.

Plastic Jars

What are they made of?

#5 plastic - Polypropylene (PP).

What can I do with them?

Feel free to reuse these dishwasher-safe jars, but do not use them in the microwave.

Recycle them wherever #5 plastics are accepted, including curbside recycling or building pick-up programs in many areas.

Egg Cartons

What are they made of?

Formed wood pulp - just like an egg carton!

What can I do with them?

Recycle it alongside your cardboard with your curbside recycling/building pick-up programs or at your local recycling facility.

Plastic Herb Clamshells

What are they made of?

#1 plastic - Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)

What can I do with them?

Recycle them wherever #1 plastics are accepted, including curbside recycling/building pick-up programs in most areas.

You can expect many ingredients to be pre-prepped in your Green Chef box including all of our unique, chef-curated sauces, dressings, and spice blends, ready for you to use.

There is some prep work involved in our recipes. Cooking skills that will come in handy include dicing, chopping, peeling, and grating. Detailed step-by-step instructions are included in each of our recipe cards with timing and visual cues to help you along the way! Also, our culinary team creates helpful chefs tips for techniques that may require a little more cooking experience. Chefs tips will help explain and guide your cooking experience to make it as easy as possible. If you're new to cooking, rest assured that our recipes have been tested by trained chefs and new chefs alike!

We love to grill when the season is right, but we know not everyone has a grill or grill pan.

We offer alternative cooking instructions for all our recipes that call for grilling. All you have to do is reference the online recipe card.
