Ms. Michelle S. Mapes has been Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Green Plains Holdings LLC since March 2015. Ms. Mapes has been an Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Green Plains Inc. since November 03, 2009 and its General Counsel since September 2009. She served as a Partner of Husch & Eppenberger LLC. She served as Secretary of Green Plains Renewable Energy, Inc. She served as a Partner of Husch Blackwell Sanders LLP. since 2008. Ms. Mapes joined Husch Blackwell Sanders as Of Counsel in 2006. Ms. Mapes??? practice areas include corporate, banking and finance, energy, tax, technology and e-commerce, mergers and acquisitions and private equity financing. Her representative clients includes HDM Corp. Her significant accomplishments includes: broad senior management and leadership experience of multiple business units including legal, finance, human resources, employee benefits, facilities and information technology departments; a legal Counsel to closely held businesses for company restructurings, ownership and governance structuring, resolution of outstanding litigation and drafting and implementation of policies and procedures; the Senior Vice President & General Counsel of multi-billion dollar, multi-state governmental sponsored entity and agricultural lender from 2000 to 2005; structuring and negotiation of complex commercial and mortgage credits with both borrower and lender experience and representation; a Counsel to Boards of Directors, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance; qualification, structuring and utilization of multiple state tax credit programs - corporate, shareholder and governmental entity representation; a tax Counsel in multiple multi-million dollar structured finance transactions; and a Trustee of multi-billion dollar, multi-employer health and welfare benefits trust. Prior to Husch Blackwell, she served as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of HDM Corporation from 2005 to 2006; the Senior Vice President of Corporate Services and General Counsel of Farm Credit Services of America from 2000 to June 2005; and a Partner and an Associate of Kutak Rock LLP from 1991 to 2000. Ms. Mapes is admitted to practice in the Bar of Nebraska since 1991. She is a member at Nebraska State Bar Association. Ms. Mapes is in a Leadership role at Omaha Alumni Association. She is the Council President of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Vice Chair and Fundraising Committee Chair of Nebraska Food Bank. Ms. Mapes received a B.S., with distinction, in Finance and Accounting from University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1987; an M.B.A. from University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1991; and a J.D., with high distinction, from University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1991, where she was an Assistant Editor of Nebraska Law Review.
