What's the office vibe like at Guidewire Software?
The vibe is a little different by tower/floor at the headquarters in Foster City. W(est)8 - Executive, "cube-farmey", and straight-laced (punctuated by occasional team lunches and mixers) - customers visit here and most corporate functions live here. W(est)5 and E(east)7 - Operational and humming away keeping the business running. E(ast)8 - Engineering-centric with open floor plans, colorful surroundings and a mix of brainy and creative conversations - most like what you'd expect from a bay area tech company. Perhaps others can comment on Dublin, Krakow, Exton, Mississauga, etc.

The culture varies drastically by department/manager. In aggregate, collegiality, integrity, rationality are adhered to at Guidewire. In hr/ops, it's all about lowest cost. In product dev, they make sure you don't work more than 45 hours a week to ensure "good people" don't get burned out. In IT/IS you must be willing to work 80+ hours/week and not take any vacation to show that you are "loyal". It's a different company in ops, and I would not assume the high glassdoor reviews apply there. Join another part of the company, and you will be fine.
What benefits does Guidewire Software provide?

Guidewire provides Medical, Dental, Disability, AD&D and Life insurance. The contributions are pretty normal. Coverage limits are very good in the family plans. This in addition to FSA/HSA and 50% upto 8% match on 401k. (i.e. If you make 100k/year and contribute 8k/year to your 401k, employer will contribute 4k/year). No ESPP. 4 months of employer provided paid pregnant disability (upto 100% including state disability) and 6 weeks of employer provided paid family leaves (30% from employer). WFH fridays, 15 accrued PTO (includes 3 forced for shutdown), 5 sick days and 10 recognized holidays. There are other options like Jury Duty, Volunteering, Voting etc. There is some incentive for transportation and car-pools/van-pools which I don't know about. There are probably other minor incentives/benefits or details I'm missing.
