David P. Helgerson — Principal and MD of the Co-Investment Team at Hamilton Lane

Mr. David P. Helgerson, Dave, is a Principal of the Co-Investment Team and Managing Director of the Co-Investment Team at Hamilton Lane Advisors. He is a Principal and Managing Director of the Co-Investment Team at Hamilton Lane Incorporated. He joined Hamilton Lane on May 17, 2004 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm's direct investments, including co-investments and secondary portfolio investments within a variety of sectors and strategies. He also serves as Managing Director of the Co-Investment Team at Hamilton Lane Incorporated. Prior to this, Mr. Helgerson was a Corporate Investment Banker in the financial institutions group of Morgan Stanley in New York, focusing on advising and executing mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions. His industry experience includes financial services, media and telecom, and industrial and utilities sectors. Mr. Helgerson has extensive experience analyzing, structuring, and valuing potential investments with financial sponsors and clients such as Mellon Bank, American Express, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, BlackRock, RCN, and Pacific Gas & Electric, among others. Previously, he worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at Credit Suisse First Boston and with the Tri-State Investment Group. He is a Director at Upstate Venture Association of New York, Inc. Mr. Helgerson has also served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. He holds a an M.B.A. in Finance from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and B.A. degree in Political Science from Swarthmore College.
