Stop hiring friends and employees that attended the same university on that connection alone.
Leading by example and getting to know your own organization. Stop with the annoying platitudes and actual present a clear vision and solution that is beyond the financial goals. But how do we get there, this is what we are going to do and how it will directly impact the customers and bottom line.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
stock purchase and 401k match
Hourly rate is fair, HD stock purchase plan is fabulous
this package is not only great for me, but for my family as well. It shows that Hd not only care for me, but for my family as well.
Base pay is very fair
Lots of vacation, good bonus program
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Paying market rates. We are below the average.
Middle management unrelated issues presented
No room for advancement or compensation increases
More competitive pay based on skills and performance and not a standard matrix
Brand new drivers are being hired at $20/hour now. I have been with the company years and still dont make that much.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The communication and the rewards granted always putting others first
Having a pool of people to draw information from to help when out of the ordinary requests or issues come in is helpful.

The best thing is we all work remotely managing different parts of the country. So while we will share ideas, our territory is ours and ours alone.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
The leadership runs on PowerPoint rather than quick and effective meetings.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The upper management is always positive. Lots of cheerleaders at the top. Even when all the numbers are down and no one is able to make plan.

Not much. HDS claims to be Associate oriented, but I havent seen it yet.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Apply stated values, hold everyone to the same standards.
More posttive attitude. Do your job snd not just say im not doing that.
Hire more people that take pride in their job and what they do
HD Supply was a great company, but with every divestiture and going public there is only one focus. Shareholder value. CEO talks the talk but NEVER walks the walk. He cashed out. But if sales, cash flow, margin, and EBITDA is not aligned with guidance, because of his and staffs incompetent leadership. There is a yet another round of layoffs. So everyone has to work a bit more.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was a long time ago, a different world

It was fairly informal and relaxing being at a local coffee shop. One of the joys of a remote work environment. While the questions were difficult at times, my surroundings were relaxing.
The answer was quick. Didn't have to wait for weeks

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
The merge between Home Depot Pro and HDSupply is not going well. Poorly planned and even more poorly executed. Great hardship on customers in transition.
Hire people on merit not because you like them or because you know them. Pay people equally and stop trying to be secretive about hiring practices, everyone knows what's going on because everyone talks
