COMMUNICATION!!! There is a Grand Canyon of distance between management and employees.
Unfortunately Hershey's upper management is afraid of change and stuck in decade's old policies. Arrogance rules the day at Hershey's from lower to upper management. Sadly the company produces great products but the management is unable to promote and effectively motivate their employees.
pay the workers a livable wage, so they can afford housing and a functioning car to get to work.

Good pay for the work

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The rate for my job at other locations is higher, along with a higher cap. And I believe there should be better options for earning vacation time, and it not require a ridiculous amount of overtime. Salary jobs are allowed to buy what seems to be unlimited vaca, while hourly can buy 5 starting 2024
competitive wages ( Hershey in Hershey Pa. use to be the best place in the area to work. now we are along with the crowd. I wish we were leaders again.
Profit Sharing and/or a pension based on profits.
Inexperienced lower and upper management destroys the companies ability to be more profitable.
Hundreds of us employees get no benefits. There is no paid sick, vacation or personal time for hundreds of employees. We are nothing more than struggling gig workers.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Friendly and collaborative and open to any ideas
We like to chat with each other as we work. We are there for each other even though we dont get to see each other unless its an in person meeting which is getting to be rare because they dont want to spend the money to bring us together.

We treat each other with kindness. Everyone is always helpful, patience and very considerate of others.

meetings online and bi-annual in person are Useless!!

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
having access to co workers and my boss makes herself accessible.
Work life balance. Again, this varies from dept to dept. Your manager can have the biggest impact on your team.
Teamwork keeps everything going. It thrives in the plant
Equal treatment for everyone regardless of the position you occupy.
It only lasts eight hours a day. Seven days a week, every week.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Stop wasting enormous anounts of money moving employees around the country. Stop discrimination against older employees.
make a two week schedule and pay a little more
