What kind of people succeed at HMB?
To succeed at HMB you need to be constantly aware of the perception you give others. If you are a dependable person who never hesitates to take new responsibilities, you'll do great and be on the fast track to promotion. If your content to sit back and have things handed to you, you might be waiting awhile.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at HMB?
There is already a culture of continuous education at HMB and the upper management definitely says it is important. Some of the things they deem are important employee led events. Many times, these events are not attended by the same people that say they are important.
What do people at HMB think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Tom Harris is the CEO and he is very well liked. He makes an effort to know everyone's name but it is hard with over 200 employees. He does a good job congratulating others for good work and give credit where it is due. One thing that I think could be improved is more transparency and better communication. It can be tough because the company has grown so fast but over communication is better than less in my opinion.
How's the work life balance at HMB?
HMB let's people participate as much or as little as you want. You're expected to work your 40 hours a week and you don't have to do much else if you don't want to. People who do put in more time for work or other activities do tend to receive more rewards for the extra effort they put in.
What's the company culture like at HMB?
HMB strives for a family friendly feeling at work. They sponsor many social events outside of work hours to give employees a chance to relax and hang out with co-workers. They even have an employee led committee that leads the initiatives. The work day culture is similar but everyone does a great job working together to deliver high quality work. There are no slackers here.
