Hometap Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

A very competitive incentive plan and salary.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted a day ago

The 401K plan and PTO.

The base salary is good

Review from Engineering Dept · Posted 2 days ago

I believe I am paid fairly.

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 2 days ago

Our health insurance is some of the best that I've ever had.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 2 days ago

It's not the best I've ever had, but it's adequate and my needs are met!

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 2 days ago

I am paid very well, but I still have work-life balance.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 3 days ago

It used to be unlimited PTO. It sucks that a few people ruined that for everyone. It should have just had more parameters placed on it so that managers felt empowered to help with issues they were having. For those of us who are responsible and care about our jobs, this felt like a punishment

Review from Operations Dept · Posted 3 days ago

The time off and holidays are very generous.

Review from Sales Dept

Great pay, great benefits, and the communication with HR and the company is amazing. They make sure that we are heard as employees.

Review from Engineering Dept

The commission structure is the best

Review from Sales Dept

Insentive units structure: capitalizing immediately

Review from Engineering Dept

The work from home stipend and health benefits are good

Review from HR Dept

The ability to keep growing an keep earning with no ceiling

Review from Sales Dept

the accelerators it lets me know I am in control of what I make

Review from Sales Dept

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The quotas have been unattainable since I started here. There are too many variables that are out of thre control of the IM. Too much work goes into the due diligence stage to be worth a $60k base. There should be a higher base and less emphasis on commission.

Review from Sales Dept · Posted 3 days ago

While I don't feel undervalued necessarily, I do wish that base pay for IM's were more in line and competitive with market conditions. Also, there have been a few months where I was prevented from reaching higher goal attainment due to extenuating circumstances/delays from other depts. (UW, AS, etc)

Review from Sales Dept

Base salary could be higher

Review from Sales Dept

Because of inflation, it's becoming difficult to save for the future. This burdensome financial stress does negatively impact my focus, and at times, I feel like a fraud saying we're helping homeowners when in reality, I feel like I need more funds, too. I was forced to take a second job.

Review from Sales Dept

Greater compensation and company matching.

Review from Operations Dept

Pay is standard, but we work remotely so I know the company has saved money without an office. The benefits are also standard (health care and dental). We don't get education credits, parental leave is the state minimum, and events are mainly for Boston individuals.

Review from Operations Dept

- More transparency on promotion timeline / cycle, raises (at the very least we should have inflation raises), and better explanation of equity grants / how to value them - A more generous fitness stipend beyond what BCBS insurance provides

Review from Product Dept

Make far less than peers

Review from Sales Dept

Being compensated based on the market rate

Review from Sales Dept

We are a bit below market level, especially with no bonus structure. Obviously incentive units somewhat offset this, however.

Review from Engineering Dept

A 401k match program would be beneficial, and is definitely a competitive disadvantage at the moment. A more structured bonus program would help bring the whole package in line with the industry more as well.

Review from Operations Dept

Do not feel undervalued but more commission incentives would be appreciated.

Review from Business Development Dept

higher base salary and annual bonus
