The leadership team does not have a clue - about anything. CEO is lost. Marketing is so far off course. People trying to run the business are just long time employees who have never run a business before. Everyone just sits around waiting for the phone to ring.
Transparency and expectations. I get hiring competent people but not telling them what you want and getting upset when you don't get it is foolish.

IDEO charges McKinsey rates for work done by teams making on average $150k per year. The company carries way, way, way too many people who do nothing all day but have been there forever.

Coworkers need to focus on efforts that drive revenue and not just compete to work on projects that are aiming to save the world. Nothing IDEO does will have that great an impact, so focus on driving high quality and high revenue work to support others in the company.

This is the first place I've worked where team felt a bit like a support network - where there's grace around mistakes and failure, and my boss is actively giving me room to grow and pushing me when they think I should stretch myself to get to the next level.
It feels like a family, the team does a lot together and the experience team seeks to make it a fun place to work.

The process is rigorous but there is great care put into each step of evaluation. Company values: inclusivity, creativity, ability to handle oneself in ambiguous environments, empathy for others.
They've got to get back in touch with candidates quickly. Whole weeks would go by before I heard anything - and I actually ended up being one of the folx they hired!

No day is different. None of my days here have EVER looked the same - and that's the kind of thing that keeps things fun and challenging.
current leaders, they need to be replaced with competent, maybe newer generation people.
