IFCO Systems Mission Statement

In 2009, the ‘United Nations Guidelines on Children in Alternative Care’ (agreed by the UN General Assembly) stated that all children should be in family based care. We firmly believe this model offers children and young people the best chance of a brighter future and we are therefore committed to promoting this model of foster care the world over. IFCO promotes family-based solutions for out-of-home children based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child across the world. We achieve this by: Enabling the exchange of information among persons and organizations of different nations Promoting Foster Care as an important type of family-based care Organizing International Conferences and Training Seminars Consultation Networking Publications
