In 1985, he took a two year sabbatical from healthcare to play professional basketball in Brazil, later returning to a sales management position at Del Mar. In 1991, he worked for Oxford Instruments, Inc. and since 1997 was the Vice President of Integrative Medical Arts, Inc., a start up software and internet company that created reference teaching materials designed to educate medical doctors about alternative and complementary medicine. He has published articles on a wide variety of topics. Mr. Darsee earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa.
