Mr. Gavin Van Tonder has been the President of Water Business Line of Itron, Inc. since 2013. Originally from South Africa, Mr. Tonder started his career as a process chemical engineer working for Sasol Oil Company. In 1989, he joined Schlumberger Oilfield Services in South Africa and has worked and lived in Italy, Scotland, Singapore, Vietnam, India, China, UK, Australia and Malaysia in the oil, gas, electricity and water industries. Since 2010, he has worked as Itron's Vice President of global marketing and systems for water and heat. He has more than 12 years of global experience in the water industry and has worked with a wide variety of oil companies and water utilities, providing solutions, systems and products to enhance their efficiency.
