Founded in 1929, The Jackson Laboratory is a world leader in complex genetics and genomics research. As President, I am responsible for the operations, recruitment, and business strategy of the institution, having over 2,200 full time employees and 75+ Principal Investigators on four campuses (ME, CA, CT). As CEO, I serve as Director of the National Cancer Institute designated JAX Cancer Center (established in 1983) and set in place the scientific direction of JAX.

My scientific research focuses on the functional genomics of human cancers, particularly breast cancer, uncovering new oncogenes, and deciphering -- on a genomic scale -- the dynamics of gene regulation that modulate cancer biology.
