Dr. Paulus A. Stoffels Ph.D., M.D., also known as Paul, has been Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice President at Johnson & Johnson since October 1, 2012 and May 2, 2016 respectively and served as its Worldwide Chairman of Pharmaceuticals until May 2, 2016. Dr. Stoffels serves as the Global Head at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board of Index Life VI. Dr. Stoffels co-founded Tibotec-Virco NV in 2001 and served as its Chairman and Managing Director. Dr. Stoffels served as the Cha irman of Tibotec BVBA, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. He served as a Director of Galapagos NV (Galapagos Genomics NV). He is the Worldwide Chairman of Pharmaceuticals of Janssen Research & Development, LLC. He holds a Medical degree from the University of Antwerp and training in infectious diseases from the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp. Dr. Stoffels studied medicine at the University of Diepenbeek and the University of Antwerp, Belgium and infectious diseases and tropical medicine at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, also in Antwerp.
