Alvio Silvio Barrios — Senior Vice President of Americas Sales at Juniper Networks

Mr. Alvio Silvio Barrios has been Senior Vice President of Americas Sales at Juniper Networks, Inc. since October 2011. Mr. Barrios leads the Enterprise Vertical Industries and Commercial businesses for the Americas where he is responsible for driving sales, services and go-to-market strategy. He is focused on strategy development and field execution through the company's direct, indirect and distribution channels. He has more than 24 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology sector. He served as President of Caribbean & Latin American Region of Nortel Networks Corporation since June 1, 2007. Mr. Barrios served as President of CALA at Nortel Networks Ltd. since June 1, 2007. He served as Vice President and General Manager for U.S. and Latin American markets at Ciena Communications where he was critical in the integration of the Nortel Metro Ethernet Networks (MEN) business. Prior to Ciena, he served at Nortel for 16 years, holding various executive positions with responsibility in Engineering, Marketing and Sales across different regions, expanding their mobility, enterprise and networking segments. Mr. Barrios served as Regional Sales Vice President of Nortel Networks Corp. Mr. Barrios has been with Nortel for 13 years where he served various positions of increasing responsibility within its engineering, marketing and sales organizations. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at IndependenceIT, Inc. He is also the recipient of the 2009 Hispanic Engineers North American Conference Chairman's award. He has completed several Executive Leadership programs. He holds Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida International University.
