Lower level managers are doing what they need to do to survive. There are a lot of good people in those roles, but there is a clear breakdown with mid to upper levels of management. It seems like it's a little too cutthroat and toxic. The good ones seem to get weeded out.

Total comp package very fair and provides good upside if company preforms well
The focals are barely keeping up with inflation. The quarterly bonuses are good, but it's at the expense of long term compensation. I feel that for the amount of work I've put into the company it has not been worth my time. The benefits are ok, but not great, which was the result of cost cutting.
My peer relationships have been developed over a long period of time and I really look forward to working with them. If it had not been for a good team, I would have left a long time ago. We help each other out and keep the gears turning.

I most enjoy interacting with my customers. While the relationships aren't always the best between the companies, they often are very fair on an individual basis and I've had the chance to work with some very sharp engineers.
Openness to new ideas and willingness to make faster decisions and take more risks
The people I interviewed were people that I ended up working directly with. The recruiters were a bit slow and they made the process take longer than it should have; but otherwise it wasn't terrible.

Cost cutting over many years has left some major deficiencies and they are way behind in addressing those gaps. We often only have marginal support for some issues. A company of 8000 +/- that decides to hire 1500 while the growth is only moderate is in trouble and they are hiding something bad
