Overall, it has been okay. Being in IT, I expected more work/life balance from the IT department. My manager was very flexible, but then I was moved under a brand new Lead who was very rigid and lead by fear and micromanaged and demanded rather than asked. I do not tolerate this.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
As a woman, you definitely feel that your voice is not heard. Management will not acknowledge your contributions or ideas unless you are a man. I would feel better about my compensation if I were paid more fairly for my skills and experience as my male counterparts are paid.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Red tape culture, micro-managed, Old-fashioned, not with the times. I have worked here for 6 months in Mast IT and there is no work/life balance. The organization does not believe in work from home and there is no flexibility. It is a culture of old men who favor men and only men are truly valued.
