Truterra, LLC, the sustainability business of Land O’Lakes, offers the only farmer-driven food and ag sustainability program in the U.S. Since the program launch in 2016 by Land O'Lakes, Inc., over 1,600 farmers put their trust in the Truterra network to help them advance and accelerate stewardship on 26,000 fields. We partner with forward-thinking farmers, value chain companies, conservation organizations and ag retailers to help better deliver the future of on-farm sustainability.
Being a force for good in our communities—and for our planet—is a role we take seriously. It means using our voice as an industry leader in agriculture to showcase the areas of impact that our farmers and members are making across our cooperative network and the globe.
Land O’Lakes Venture37, a nonprofit committed to helping communities around the world thrive through agriculture, is focused on long-term, human-centered impact. Since 1981, Venture37 has developed agriculture development projects to help people in more than 80 countries.
Food donations can be complicated, especially when it involves items with short shelf lives, like dairy products. In 2022, the Land O'Lakes Foundation worked with the Dairy Foods and Logistics teams to donate 750,000 lbs. of product to communities across the country. Since joining forces with Spoiler Alert, over 2.9 million pounds of Land O’Lakes product has been donated to hunger-relief nonprofits this year.
In 2020, Land O’Lakes, Inc. set an enterprise goal, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger, by committing to donating 3 million pounds of product by 2030. We are projected to surpass that number in 2023 alone.
