Michael Burns — Publisher of the River Valley Newspaper Group at Lee Enterprises

Mr. Michael Burns, also known as Mike, has been Chief Revenue Officer at Oregonian Publishing Company LLC since May 22, 2017. Mr. Burns has been Publisher of The River Valley Newspaper Group at Lee Enterprises, Incorporated since May 2015. He served as Publisher at the Press-Enterprise in Riverside, California. He served as Chief Revenue Officer for Freedom Communications, which at the time included its flagship Orange County Register. He served as Senior Vice President of Advertising and Sales at Orange County Register Communications Inc. He has nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience. For four years he served as Vice President of Sales and Market Development for Freedom Communications, responsible for both print and online sales, marketing and Freedom's national call center. He oversees new product development, strategic alliances, staff training and sales planning. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Corporate Vice President of Sales & Market Development, President and Publisher of The Gazette Media Company in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Additionally, he has held key leadership positions with The Gannett Company and Tribune Company. Mr. Burns is Bachelor's degree of Eastern Connecticut University in Willimantic, Connecticut and also holds a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
