Joshua L. Proffitt serves as president and chief operations officer for LHC Group. In this role, he leads a strong and growing bench of seasoned executives and teams in the areas of operations, growth, finance, administration, legal, and compliance, as well as assisting in financial, legal, and compliance related issues, and in the assessment, completion, and integration of acquisitions and joint ventures. Mr. Proffitt joined LHC Group in 2008 and during his tenure at the company has served as vice president, assistant general counsel and director of mergers and acquisitions, then senior vice president and chief compliance officer, then executive vice president, corporate development and general counsel. In November 2017, when LHC Group announced its merger with Almost Family, Mr. Proffitt was instrumental in leading the structural, financial, operational, and legal aspects of the transaction. Before coming to LHC Group, he was a member of the corporate healthcare practice group with the law firm of Alston & Bird, LLP, in Atlanta. Mr. Proffitt is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif (top 10 in the class) from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
