Josh Proffitt serves as LHC Group’s president and chief executive officer. In this role, he is responsible for the development and oversight of the company’s strategic priorities and organizational growth and performance, while advancing the company’s mission and strengthening its culture enterprise-wide. He leads a strong and growing bench of seasoned executives and teams that are focused on high performance across all six of LHC Group’s pillars of excellence.
Mr. Proffitt joined LHC Group in 2008 and during his tenure at the company has served in numerous roles, including: vice president, assistant general counsel and director of mergers and acquisitions; senior vice president and chief compliance officer; executive vice president, corporate development and general counsel; executive vice president and chief financial officer; and, most recently, president and chief operating officer.
Before coming to LHC Group, he was a member of the corporate healthcare practice group with the law firm of Alston & Bird LLP, in Atlanta. Mr. Proffitt is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Kentucky, and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif (top 10 in the class) from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Mr. Proffitt currently serves as a community advisory member of the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees Healthcare Committee. He also serves as a Board of Trustees member for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Foundation and a Board of Trustees member for the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
