Ms. Laura P. O'Hara has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel of M&T Bank Corporation August 21, 2017. Ms. O'Hara joined M&T with more than 30 years of litigation, regulatory compliance and risk management experience. She served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Santander Bank, N. A. from 2015 to 2017. At Santander, she was responsible for legal support for all lines of business as well as Risk Management, Compliance, Regulatory and Human Resources. Ms. O'Hara served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Consumer & Commercial Banking for Royal Bank of Scotland, RBS Citizens (RBS) from 2011 to 2015. There, she led Legal support for all Consumer and Commercial lines of business including Retail Banking, Mortgage, Broker Dealer, Business Banking, Credit Card, Auto Lending, Student Lending as well as Servicing and Operations for those businesses. She joined J.P. Morgan Chase and Company in 1991 and held various senior level positions responsible for Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Mergers and Acquisitions and Regulatory affairs. She served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Chase Home Lending. Ms. O'Hara holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She holds B.A. in Economics and graduated summa cum laude from Villanova University.
