Audrey Hanken — President of Markel Personal Lines at Markel Corporation

Ms. Audrey Hanken serves as the President of Markel Personal Lines at Markel Corp. Ms. Hanken served as the President of The American Underwriting Managers Agency, Inc. since April 2012. She has 20 years of industry experience. In 1995, She took her insurance experience to industry. She served as President of Markel American Insurance Company since April 2012. She started her career at Markel American in the compliance department and quickly grew into leadership positions in marketing, underwriting and product management. She served as the Product Management Director of Markel American, where she led her team in managing Markel American's $90 million specialty personal lines insurance portfolio (which consists of motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle, snowmobile, boat, yacht, specialty personal lines property and event cancellation and liability products). In addition, her responsibilities included identifying, developing, implementing and evaluating new product opportunities. She started her insurance career at Northwestern National Casualty in Milwaukee where she was responsible for pricing auto, homeowner and umbrella products. Ms. Hanken attended Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin graduating with honors and a bachelor's degree in business administration.
