Donald W. Bahr — Managing Director of Markel Global Reinsurance at Markel Corporation

Mr. Donald W. Bahr, also known as Don, serves as Managing Director and Head of Casualty Reinsurance of Markel Global Reinsurance Company. Mr. Bahr leads the casualty reinsurance segment that includes general liability, professional liability, non-standard auto and medical malpractice. He served as Senior Vice President of Casualty Reinsurance of Markel Bermuda Limited. Mr. Bahr joined Max Bermuda in August 2003, he overseeing its professional liability treaty reinsurance business. Prior to, he was with Transatlantic Reinsurance Company from 1998 to 2003, where he served as a Vice President and Manager of Professional Liability Treaty and Facultative Operations. Previous to Transatlantic, he held professional liability underwriting and management positions with RLI Insurance Company, Continental Insurance Company and Cincinnati Financial Corporation. Mr. Bahr holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Miami University-Oxford, Ohio and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University-Los Angeles, California.
