Mr. Greg Richardson has been Acting Head of Retro Property Reinsurance Unit for Markel Global Reinsurance at Markel Corp. since September 6, 2013. Mr. Richardson served as Underwriting Strategy and Business Analytics and Executive Vice President at Alterra Capital Holdings Limited since April 2011. He focused on the continued development of Alterra's pricing models, capital allocations and liability risk management, as well as the periodic determination of target business mix -- all critical aspects of Alterra's enterprise risk management and business planning disciplines. He served as Chief Underwriting Officer for Alterra's Bermuda and Dublin Reinsurance operations. He held senior underwriting positions with Harbor Point Re, Platinum Re, St. Paul Re and F&G Re. Mr. Richardson earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Purdue University, was a Marshall Scholar at Oxford University, and earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
