Yaacov Mutnikas — Executive Vice President of Financial Market Technologies at Markit

Mr. Yaacov Mutnikas has been an Executive Vice President of Financial Market Technologies at IHS Markit Ltd. since July 12, 2016. Mr. Mutnikas has responsibility for software products including Enterprise Data Management, Markit Analytics, ThinkFolio, Information Mosaic, WSO and Global Equities. He has been Executive Vice President-Financial Market Technologies at Markit Ltd. since July 12, 2016. He served as Managing Director and Co-Head of Solutions at Markit Ltd. from September 2015 to July 12, 2016. Previously, Mr. Mutnikas served as a Senior Advisor at the Bank of England, focused on financial networks and systemic risk. Prior to this, he served as the Head of business architecture at Bridgewater Associates and had a long tenure at Algorithmics where he held a number of concurrent roles including Chief Technology Officer, Head of Financial Engineering and Managing Director of their EMEA businesses. He served as Head of risk architecture at the FSA. Mr. Mutnikas served as the President and Chief Operating Officer at Markov Processes International LLC (alternate name Markov Processes International, Inc.). He served as the Chief Technology Officer and Company Director of Algorithmics Inc. He joined Algorithmics Inc. in 1996 as Managing Director of Algorithmics South Africa; and two years later, he became Vice President of Development and Vice President of Software Engineering. In his complementary role as Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Mutnikas oversaw all aspects of creating solutions for Algorithmics, Inc., including research, financial architecture and engineering, software development and product management/product architecture. From 1983 to 1996, he simultaneously held the position of Managing Director at two South African financial services technology companies, where he was responsible for financial engineering, research, development and product architecture, as well as general management and operations. He has a solid background in the financial services and software industries. From 1985 to 1992, he simultaneously held the position of Managing Director at two companies: Digitron and Foundation Technologies. He has over 30 years' experience across software engineering, systems architecture, financial engineering and advanced risk analytics. Mr. Mutnikas holds an MSc in Finance and Investment Banking from the University of Reading and an MSc in Philosophy of Science from King's College, London.
