A brand new employee is often paid more than someone who has been at the company for years. You need to actively make requests to get compensated fairly. Years of service and past accomplishments don't seem to matter. If that was considered and pay raises were provided morale would be higher.

I was given a problem that was outside of my comfort zone, and the main interviewer was able to work with me to understand the problem together.
