We manage our operations with sustainability in mind. For example, we responsibly divert waste to compost or recycling and offer premium parking and free charging for electric vehicles. Today, the majority of our workforce is working remotely, reducing the number of vehicles on the road and enhancing work/life balance for our employees.
With over 4.5 million spaces captured to date, we're reducing - or oftentimes, eliminating - the need for people to physically travel to locations. Whether it's providing buyers or renters the opportunity to walk through multiple properties in realistic 3D, or enabling large teams to design, build, promote or manage properties remotely, the use of the platform significantly reduces greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.
MatterportCares is our employee engagement initiative that includes matching donations and volunteer programs, encouraging both team and individual contributions. The initiative also supports programs led by employees across the world. For example, our Kansas office established a scholarship fund that supports iHawke, a University of Kansas program committed to increasing the number of diverse engineers, including women and underrepresented minorities. And most recently, our UK-based team helped fund and build a school in Kenya.
We make the world more accessible and enriching by providing free access to thousands of spaces, including museums, historical places and school campuses. We offer educational institutions complimentary Matterport accounts so they can capture and share a digital twin of their schools. Immersive 3D walkthroughs of the campus help schools plan for a safe reopening post-COVID, prepare First Responders in case emergency strikes, and offer virtual tours of the school to anyone, anywhere at any time.
