Executive Bio

Mr. Glen M. de Vries serves as the President of Medidata Solutions Worldwide at Medidata Solutions, Inc. Mr. de Vries Co-founded Medidata Solutions, Inc. in 1999 and has been its President since February 2008. He serves as the Lead Architect for all of Medidata's product offerings. Mr. de Vries served as the Chief Technology Officer of Medidata Solutions, Inc. from 1999 to 2008. Prior to his work with Medidata Solutions, his pioneering efforts in online physician/patient relationships were featured by the New York Times and drew the attention of the Office of Health and Human Services. Mr. de Vries served as a Research Assistant at Columbia University. He served as President of OceanTek. Mr. de Vries was the Chief Consultant for a global Fortune 500 e-commerce project; the lead developer of a web application security component for Windows NT and 2000. His work at Columbia University focused on both research science and medical informatics and worked on a blood assay for the detection of micro-metastases in prostate cancer patients and creating a paperless clinical data management system. He has been a Director of Medidata Solutions, Inc. since 1999. Mr. de Vries serves as a Director of FieldLens, Inc. He is a featured presenter at multiple Drug Information Association (DIA) meetings in U.S., as well as DIA Japan, SCDM, Bio-IT World, BIOPHEX, Partnerships with CROs, the National Medical Association Annual Meeting and American Urological Association Annual Meetings. His peer-reviewed papers have been published in Cancer, the Journal of Urology, Molecular Diagnostics, Urology and Urologic Clinics of North America. He has over 15 years of experience in medical software development, including electronic health records and consumer-targeted products. Mr. De Vries studied probabilistic algorithms at the Courant Institute of Mathematics (New York University) and received a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Carnegie Mellon University.
