Ms. Jean M. Franchi has been Chief Financial Officer of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, Inc. since August 21, 2017 and serves as its Treasurer and Principal Accounting Officer. Ms. Franchi has more than 30 years of experience in the financial management of biotechnology companies. Ms. Franchi served as the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Dimension Therapeutics, Inc. since August 6, 2015 until July 28, 2017 and served as its Secretary until July 28, 2017. At Dimension Therapeutics, she was responsible for all financial activities and related business strategy, including the company's initial public offering in 2015. For more than 16 years, she mainly filled roles at Genzyme Corporation in financial management ( Sold to Sanofi in 2011). She served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance at Genzyme Corporation. Ms. Franchi managed a team of finance professionals serving Genzyme's diverse business units as financial partners to senior management with a focus on both strategic and commercial operations. She served as the Chief Financial Officer of Good Start Genetics, Inc. until July 28, 2015. She served in accounting, finance and sales operations for diagnostic companies bioMerieux Vitek and API, a former division of American Home Products. She has been Director of Institut Biophytis SAS since June 16, 2017. She earned her Certified Public Accountant Certificate in Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University and successfully completed the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination.
