Mr. Steven Jeffrey Goulart, also known as Steve, has been the Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company since May 1, 2011. Mr. Goulart has been Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Investment Officer at Metlife Investment Management where he also served as Treasurer of Metlife Investment Management, LLC since July 2009 and served as its Senior Managing Director. He has been Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President at MetLife, Inc. Asset Management Arm since May 2011. Mr. Goulart serves as the President of Metlife Investment Advisors Company, LLC. He joined MetLife in 2006 as head mergers & acquisitions unit and served as its Treasurer since July 2009. Prior to joining MetLife, Mr. Goulart served as Senior Managing Director in the financial institutions group and co-head of the insurance practice at Bear Sterns. Prior to joining Bear Stearns in 2001, he served as Managing Director in The Global Insurance Group at Morgan Stanley where he led U.S. client coverage of the industry and was responsible for primary investment banking relationships with many insurance and other financial services companies. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Goulart served as Managing Director in the financial institutions group at Merrill Lynch, where he joined in 1984. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Pacific.
