Mr. Thomas J. Meek, also known as Tom, has been Chief Compliance Officer of Minerals Technologies Inc. since October 17, 2011 and its Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel since October 17, 2012. Mr. Meek served as an Interim Co-Chief Executive Officer of Minerals Technologies Inc. from September 3, 2016 to December 13, 2016. He served as Vice President of Human Resources at Minerals Technologies Inc. He served as Vice President at Minerals Technologies Inc. since September 1, 2009 until October 2011 and served as its Interim Vice President of Human Resources since January 1, 2012. Mr. Meek served as Chief Litigation Counsel and Deputy General Counsel at Alcoa, Inc., for all global litigation, claims, governmental investigations and subpoenas. From 1990 to 1999, he was with Koch Industries, Inc. of Wichita, Kansas, where he held numerous supervisory positions, including section head of litigation, employment and environmental departments and also as its Interim General Counsel, where he was responsible for its legal affairs. Mr. Meek joined Alcoa Inc. in 1999 as Assistant General Counsel and in 2001 was also appointed Director of Global Compliance responsible for all aspects of Alcoa's compliance with laws and regulations on a global basis, as well as for all legal environmental matters. From 1985 to 1990, Mr. Meek was an Associate/Partner in the Wichita, Kansas, Law firm of McDonald, Tinker, Skaer, Quinn & Herrington, P.A. He has been Director of AMCOL International Corporation since May 9, 2014. Mr. Meek is a Member of the Kansas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Corporate Counsel Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Ethics Officers Association and the Defense Industry Initiative. Mr. Meek holds Juris Doctorate degree from Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Central Missouri State University.
