Ms. Sara N. Ortwein has been President of XTO Energy Inc. since November 1, 2016. Ms. Ortwein served as President of ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company at Exxon Mobil Corporation from September 1, 2010 to November 4, 2016. She served Vice President of Engineering for Exxonmobil Development Company since 2006. She joined Exxon Company, USA as a Drilling Engineer in 1980. She held several engineering positions at Exxon Company, USA in the East Texas division before becoming an engineering supervisor in the Central division in 1985. In 1987, Ms. Ortwein was named advisor for operations analysis and later supervisor of the reservoir and subsurface engineering organization. She held a number of technical and management positions in Exxon Company, USA, Exxon Ventures Inc. and ExxonMobil Production Company. Ms. Ortwein served as Upstream Advisor at Corporate Headquarters since 2001 and since 2003 served as Deputy Production Manager and later served as Production Manager at U.S. Production at ExxonMobil Production Company. She has won numerous awards for her work championing math, science and engineering, including being named a distinguished graduate from the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT in 2009. Ms. Ortwein holds bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Texas.
