Mr. K. Thomas Bailey, also known as Tom, M.B.A., has been Chief Financial Officer of NanoString Technologies, Inc. since January 16, 2018. Mr. Bailey served as Chief Financial Officer at AgaMatrix, Inc. since March 2014 and served as its Treasurer. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc. from October 17, 2010 to October 8, 2013 and served as its President from February 2012 to October 8, 2013. He served as Member of the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Cowen and Co., where he worked with emerging life sciences companies on a variety of transactions. He has been a Director at AgaMatrix, Inc since January 2018. Mr. Bailey advised on more than 50 completed transactions for biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, including mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances and a wide range of equity, equity-linked and debt financings, during his 11-year tenure as an investment banker. He serves as a Director of BIOTECanada. Mr. Bailey serves as a Director of LifeCare Management Services. He served as a Director of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc. from October 8, 2013 to February 23, 2015. Mr. Bailey served as a Director of OncoGenex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Oncogenex Technologies Inc.) from February 14, 2006 to August 21, 2008. He has worked in advisory, investing and operating roles within the healthcare industry for over 20 years, specifically focused on medical products, medical technology and diagnostics companies. Mr. Bailey received A.B. in economics from Harvard University in 1990 and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1995.
