How's the leadership on the Engineering team at National Education Association?
Ludicrously incompetent, with a notable exception or two. The management culture throughout the organization is anti-accountability, so it is easy to accumulate underlings who behave like the boss.
What are your coworkers at National Education Association like?
Intelligent and observant; friendly and willing to help each other. On the other hand, poor management has forced most workers into silos, so you might have no idea what the guy in the next office knows or does. That leads to a slow pace, and some people have ROTJ'ed (retired on the job).
What's the office vibe like at National Education Association?
People have always been friendly and engaging individually, but morale has been abysmal for many years. It is on the upswing because a major new system was deployed this year, and the worker bees get a lot of the credit for it. Hopefully management will stop being so oppressive.
What's the company culture like at National Education Association?
Most employees identify closely with the goals of the Democratic Party, and are tightly knit as a result. The downside is that morale is extremely low, not only because of the 5 years of devastating election losses, but because of poor management decisions visible to everyone. On a personal level, performance expectations are low, and short of committing felonies within the company, nobody gets fired. That's good if you want job security, not so good if you want to find meaning in your work.
What benefits does National Education Association provide?
Health insurance: up to a 6:1 match in premiums and a 3k family deductible. In other words, an exemption from Obamacare.
