Mr. John M. Kane has been Group President of Business Processing Solutions at Navient Corporation since May 10, 2017. Mr. Kane oversees federal, state and local collections businesses and portfolio management. At Navient, he is focused on quality client service and growth. Mr. Kane served as the Chief Operating Officer of Navient Corporation since April 2014 and serves as its Executive Vice President. Mr. Kane played an integral role in the creation of Navient, led servicing operations, default prevention and initiatives that assist its customers to successfully repay their student loans. Mr. Kane served as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Project Management at Navient Corporation from March 2013 to April 2014. He served as Senior Vice President of Credit at Navient from August 2011 to March 2013 and Senior Vice President of Collections from May 2008 to 2011. In 2008, he joined Navient to lead the asset recovery division, where he managed the development of a new loan modification program to assist student loan customers experiencing financial difficulties. He also served in a variety of roles within consumer credit operations at MBNA America and Bank of America, including credit acquisition, collections and fraud prevention from 1990 to 2008. He served as a Customer Assistance Representative in the Collections Department at MBNA. During his 17 years with MBNA, he held numerous roles in operations, information technology and business analytics. He later went on to manage credit operations and create an enterprise project management group. He began his business career at a young age. When he was 10 years old, he started a newspaper route and later held numerous part-time jobs. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Delaware in 1990.
