Somsak Chivavibul — Chief Decision Management Officer and Executive Vice President at Navient Corporation

Mr. Somsak Chivavibul has been the Chief Decision Management Officer and Executive Vice President of Navient Corporation since March 27, 2017 and he is responsible for directing the finance, accounting, treasury and investor relations. Mr. Chivavibul served as the Chief Financial Officer of Navient Corporation since April 2017 until March 27, 2017. He served as Senior Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis of Navient Corporation from May 2007 to April 2014 and also served as its Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis from August 2004 to September 12, 2007. He served as Managing Director of Financial Planning & Analysis of Navient Corporation from 1997 to 2003. He served as Senior Accountant at Ernst & Young. He also served at Sallie Mae. He started at Sallie Mae in 1992 and worked his way up from Analyst to Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis in 2007. He was involved with many of most important events at Sallie Mae from the privatization of it from its government sponsored enterprise status to the recent spin-off of Navient from Sallie Mae. In the process, he developed extensive experience in business and transaction modeling, corporate and portfolio acquisitions, financial analysis and management reporting. He has also held a part-time job at the accounting firm. Mr. Chivavibul also got a job working at a golf course, where he sold and collected range balls at the driving range. He was Treasurer of Student Loan Marketing Association from 1997 to 2003. He was a Certified Public Accountant. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland in 1988.
