Mr. William J. Holmes, also known as Bill, serves as Chief Business Development Officer at Netflix, Inc. and served as Global Head of Business Development. Mr. Holmes served as the Chief Business Development Officer of Netflix, Inc., since June 14, 2012. He served as the Vice President of Business Development for Netflix, Inc., from August 2008 to June 14, 2012. He served as Vice President of Product Management for Divx, Inc. He was responsible for directing product affairs for DivX, Inc.'s consumer electronics (CE) business unit and these duties include the development of overall CE business strategy, management of product launches and product delivery, as well as general management of the DivX CE unit. Prior to Netflix, he served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Marketing at DivX, Inc., for the last two years and was responsible for negotiating licensing deals with silicon providers such as Qualcomm, SanDisk, Broadcom and Matsushita among others. He joined San Diego-based DivX in 2003 as Vice President of Consumer Electronics and launched the globally recognized DivX Certified program. Prior to DivX, Mr. Holmes served as an Executive Director of Product Development for Digital Entertainment Solutions (DES) in Hollywood, where he directed its digital media infrastructure providing encoding, content management and networked media distribution for major Hollywood studio clients. At DES, Mr. Holmes' chief responsibility was to direct product development for its global broadband content delivery platform. He earlier worked at Yotta Yotta, then based in Seattle, Wash., where he served as Director of Product Management and Product Marketing and was responsible for the development and marketing of carrier-class networked storage arrays. At Yotta Yotta, Mr. Holmes provided oversight in all phases of product development, working directly with prospects, clients, customers, OEMs, marketing, business development and engineering to carry out its implementation of the newly developed high capacity storage platform. He also consulted in digital media, streaming media and website development. He has an extensive experience in creating, developing and marketing first generation product offerings. He served as a Member of Board of Industry Leaders at Consumer Electronics Association since October 2011. Mr. Holmes holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Trinity University.
