Christopher F. O'Brien — Exclusive Consultant at Neurocrine Biosciences

Dr. Christopher F. O'Brien, M.D., was the Chief Medical Officer of Neurocrine Biosciences Inc. He served as Vice President of Neurocrine Biosciences Inc. He served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Development for Neurocrine Biosciences Inc. since November 1, 2005. Dr. O'Brien served positions at Elan Pharmaceuticals and Prestwick Pharmaceuticals where he managed the clinical development, registration and post-marketing trials in neurology, pain and autoimmune diseases, among other CNS indications. Dr. O'Brien served as the Chief Medical Officer at Prestwick Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from December 2003 to 2005. Dr. O'Brien served as Senior Vice President of Global Medical Affairs at Elan Pharmaceuticals from 2000 to December 2003. He served on both the commercial and R&D management teams, oversaw phase 3b and 4 trials along with the Medical Science Liaison team and the Medical Information Service. From 1997 to 2000, Dr. OBrien served as Vice President of the Colorado Neurological Institute and Medical Director of the National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence in Colorado and from 1991 to 2000, served as Medial Director of the Movement Disorders Center at the Colorado Neurological Institute. He has served as Director for over 100 clinical trials and has more than 75 publications in the Neuroscience literature. Dr. O'Brien has served as Board member with various national foundations supporting Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Dystonia and Tourette's Syndrome. He served as Member of Clinical and Developmental Advisory Board at EnVivo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Columbia Swedish Medical Center. He serves as Associate Professor in the Neuroscience Department at University of California San Diego and has served faculty appointments at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He serves as a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the Movement Disorder Society, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Physicians and the American Society for Experimental NeuroTherapeutics. He is board certified in Neurology. Dr. O'Brien earned his B.A. degree from Boston University. Dr. O'Brien received his MD from the University of Minnesota, his Neurology training at Minnesota and fellowship training in movement disorders and neuropharmacology at the University of Rochester.
