How important it was to choose the right person for the role and understanding of how valued and important the role was to the organization, as evidenced by the people involved in the process and the thoughtful questions asked.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Values people as people and making the time and space for staff to have their voice and share what is important to them; the organization backs that up by listening and responding appropriately. Also, hosts plenty of events to promote camaraderie and fun.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
A transparent and equitable compensation system that aligns to their values. Extremely generous retirement plan, thoughtful benefits aligned to values (education awards, parental leave) & it is unusual for a non-profit to be able to provide bonuses for staff on top of a highly competitive salary.
What makes you most happy at work?
The ability to make a real difference in the lives of others. To design a framework of systems & supports to create the conditions & experiences to attract, engage & retain highly talented & diverse individuals while promoting a "best place to work" atmosphere that enables organizational success.
What are some of the best things about your team?
They really like each other and are always willing to step up and take on new initiatives in a true continuous improvement fashion. Honestly, a great group of human beings that are also hard-working and great at their jobs, continually elevating the work of the department on the whole.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
A diverse group of smart, dedicated leaders that care deeply about the organization as a whole and the people that comprise it. A group that is willing to respectfully challenge each other for the purposes of the greater interests of the organization and the work New Visions is trying to achieve.
