Robert Hilliard Jr., M.D. — State President of Illinois at WellCare Health Plans

Dr. Robert L. M. Hilliard Jr., M.D., has been the State President Of Illinois of WellCare Health Plans, Inc. since November 18, 2013. Dr. Hilliard has been the Chief Operating Officer for United Healthcare Community Plan of Texas, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group since October 2011. Dr. Hilliard has been in the health care industry for 15 years. Dr. Hilliard served as the Chief Medical Officer of Molina Healthcare of Texas, Inc., a subsidiary of Molina Healthcare, Inc from June 2009 to September 2011. Dr. Hilliard was responsible for oversight of the medical management functions of Molina Healthcare of Texas, including utilization management, quality improvement, credentialing, pharmacy and risk management activities. Dr. Hilliard has held several medical leadership positions for health care organizations. He served as the Regional Medical Director of Western commercial markets for Humana, Texas from November 2007 to June 2009. He serves as Chair and Trustee of AIDS United. He has been a Director of Glen Rose Petroleum Corp. since January 9, 2012. He served as a Director of Legacy Community Health Services, Inc. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Hilliard majored in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and his Master's degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
