Mr. Michael A. Hardesty has been the Chief Accounting Officer, Corporate Vice President and Controller of Northrop Grumman Corporation since February 07, 2013. Mr. Hardesty is responsible for the Northrop Grumman's accounting policies and operations. Mr. Hardesty serves as a Financial Advisor to senior management at Northrop Grumman Corporation. He leads all aspects of corporate accounting operations including maintenance and enforcement of corporate accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Securities and Exchange Commission requirements, ensuring the integrity of the company's financial data and reporting. He also ensures appropriate accounting practices and strong internal controls over financial reporting and provides critical accountability for operational finance leadership across the Northrop Grumman. Previously, Mr. Hardesty served as Vice President of Business Management and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector, where he was responsible for all sector business management areas encompassing finance, accounting, contracts, pricing, procurement, regulatory and export compliance, real estate and facilities. He served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Enterprise Shared Services (ESS) organization and Information Technology Solutions organizations of Northrop Grumman Corporation from January 2008 to February 07, 2013. Mr. Hardesty lead the business management function of the ESS organization and also lead ESS's Financial Service Center (FSC) in Irving, Texas. Since joining Northrop Grumman in 2004, he has held leadership positions at ESS's corporate office and Integrated Systems sector. Mr. Hardesty has held leadership positions at the corporate and sector levels, including vice president of Internal Audit for the corporation. He served as Director of Finance of the FSC and concurrently Assistant Controller of the Integrated Systems sector. Prior to those roles, he served as Director of Financial Compliance and Accounting Research. Before joining Northrop Grumman, Mr. Hardesty spent ten years with Deloitte & Touche, attaining the level of audit senior manager. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and is a Certified Public Accountant.
