Amazing work environment & culture.

Like most government contracting companies, your experience at Octo is dependent on your client. My experience has been the teams actually doing the work are great, but the company has grown to a point where there are so many levels of management, it's impossible to have meaningful leadership.

I have worked here for 5 years and this is my 6th employer overall. Trust me when I say I've been around the block. This place isn't perfect, but it's far and away the best of any place I've ever worked. They listen to concerns and genuinely care in a way that you can't fake. That's worth a lot.

CEO is an inspiring leader

I have worked in this industry for over 25 years and worked for 6 CEOs. Some small companies, some large ones. Mehul is hands down the most inspiring CEO I've ever worked for. Relates to all employees and understand importance of good culture. I have been around the block, this is a good company

Staffing appropriately for projects, instead of burning out employees. Recognize and reward employees with actual pay raises.

Annual bonuses are excellent and there is opportunity for spot bonuses as well.

The company hires high end technical talent and pays just above the market norm. They also have above average benefits. The tuition reimbursement package is the best I've ever seen.

My project consistently is a high performing team for Octo, yet has never been recognized/awarded for our work. "Performance pay raises" are barely anything, they don't cover the cost of inflation (even in normal times). I would feel better about compensation if it was matched to performance.

The company employs a no jerks policy that is enforced from the top down and creates a unique and collaborative work environment.

The team is smart and professional. They are willing to go above and beyond for the client.

The company hires folks that are team oriented. I haven't been around too many folks that are all about themselves. The employees are committed to the mission.

From the leadership on down there is a sincere effort to care about everyone's well being - be it health or career development. This is often talked about but difficult to emulate.

They provide good training opportunities.

The company is unique for government contractors in that they put a premium on multiple aspects of culture. Unique social gatherings like the BBQ held at a winery / brewery with kids invited. Golf outing. They have a ton of volunteer events - more than you can keep up with to be honest.

The transparency & communication from the recruiters helped keep me informed every step of the way.

The recruiters did an excellent job of engaging with me. They answered all of my questions about the benefits to include unique concerns I had for insurance given my spouse's health condition. Went out of their way to address those questions.

The company provides top notch training and development opportunities. The growth has created a lot of opportunity for upward promotion - I've received 3 promotions during my tenure here.

The comp is very solid to excellent. They offer a number of unique employee recognition perks, but most importantly, they do a good job of weeding out the jerks.

Our leadership is too top heavy and there's a disconnect between the actual teams on the ground vs. leadership. There is mistrust between what leadership promises and what they actual deliver to their teams. There seems to be a lack of care for the project teams.
