Mark S. Siegel — Executive Chairman at Patterson-UTI Energy

Mr. Mark S. Siegel is a Founder of REMY Investors & Consultants, Inc. and serves as its President. Mr. Siegel served as Secretary of Variflex Inc., from July 2000 to December 2002. From 1992 to 1993, he served as the President of the music division at Blockbuster Entertainment Corp. From 1988 to 1992, hr served as an Executive Vice President at Shamrock Holdings, Inc., and Managing Director at Shamrock Capital Advisors, Incorporated. He has been the Chairman of Variflex, Inc., since November 1997. He has been Executive Chairman at and Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc., since May 8, 2001. He serves the Chairman of J. Paul Getty Trust, Inc. He served as the Chairman of the Board at UTI Energy Corp., (UTI) from March 14, 1995 to May 8, 2001, when UTI merged with Patterson-UTI. He serves as a Director of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He has been a Director of Variflex, Inc., since November 1997. He served as a Director of Javelin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (formerly, Intrac Inc.) since September 2000 and Discovery Laboratories, Inc.
