He served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Northeast Savings F.A., a subsidiary of Northeast Federal Corp. He served as Chief Executive Officer of Northeast Federal Corp. since January 1, 1994. He served as Senior Vice President and Controller of CalFed Inc. and California Federal Bank from 1984 to 1989. Mr. Walters co-founded PBDInet. He served with Coopers & Lybrand as an Audit Supervisor. He also served at finance group of Atlantic Richfield Corp. (ARCO) from 1981 to 1984. He began his career as an Accountant at Coopers & Lybrand in Los Angeles. He has been a Director of People's United Bank since March 16, 2011, Sovereign BanCorp. Inc. since January 30, 2009 and People's United Financial Inc., since March 16, 2011. He serves as Director of Improve Care Now. He served as Director of Santander Holdings USA, Inc. since January 30, 2009. He served as a Director of Northeast Federal Corp. since 1990 and also served for its subsidiary Northeast Savings. Mr. Walters is a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight. He received a BS in Accounting from the University of Southern California in 1978.
