Mr. Marc S. Firestone, J.D., has been the President of External Affairs and General Counsel of Philip Morris International Inc. since January 1, 2018 and June 30, 2012 respectively. Mr. Firestone served as a Senior Vice President of Philip Morris International Inc. from June 30, 2012 to December 31, 2017. Mr. Firestone served as an Executive Vice President of Corporate & Legal Affairs and General Counsel at Kraft Foods Inc. (AKA Mondelez International, Inc.) since January 2006. Mr. Firestone was responsible for Kraft Foods corporate and government affairs, legal and compliance functions worldwide. He served as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Kraft Foods Inc. since January 2006. He served as Senior Vice President of Kraft since 2003 and served as an Associate General Counsel, Kraft Foods. He worked in Europe for seven years and has represented Kraft Foods before the U.S. Senate, UK Parliament, European Commission and in meetings with public interest groups, community organizations and the media. He joined Altria Group, Inc. (formerly Philip Morris Companies Inc.) in 1988, where he held a number of senior management positions within Legal and Regulatory affairs. He served as an Attorney of Arnold & Porter. In 1993, Mr. Firestone served for Regional Counsel at Philip Morris Europe, where he covered Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in Switzerland. From 1995 to 1997, he rejoined Philip Morris Companies Inc., as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Regulatory Affairs and Associate General Counsel. Mr. Firestone returned to Switzerland in 1998 as Chief Counsel for Philip Morris Europe until 2001. He joined Kraft Foods Inc., in 2003. He served as Senior Vice President of Philip Morris International Inc. since 2001. He served as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at Phillip Morris Companies. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Unilife Corporation from July 27, 2010 to November 29, 2012. He is a frequent public speaker on international competition law, diversity and in-house practice and received several awards, including the Distinguished General Counsel Award. Mr. Firestone holds a Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans and a BA in Romance Languages and Philosophy from Washington & Lee University in Virginia.
