Mr. John A. Williams has been the Chief Executive Officer and a Managing Member at Williams Realty Advisors, LLC since November 2004. Mr. Williams has been the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. since September 18, 2009. He served as President of Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. from September 18, 2009 to August 2012. He holds interests in various other entities involving the acquisition, development, building, holding, leasing, managing, operating and exchanging of real properties and enterprises. He co-founded City Centre Properties, LLC in May 2004. He served as the President, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Member at Corporate Holdings, LLC since January 2004. He founded Post Properties, Inc. in 1970 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 1970 to July 1, 2002. He has over 40 years of business experience, principally in the real estate and banking industries. He has directed and coordinated the development, construction and management of real estate developments since 1966. He serves as the Chairman of Post Services, Inc. He served as Chairman Emeritus of Post Properties, Inc from February 20, 2003 to August 27, 2004, Chairman from 1970 to February 2003 and a Director from 1970 to August 27, 2004. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Falcons. He has been a Director of Preferred Apartment Communities, Inc. since September 18, 2009. He serves as a Member of Advisory Board at FCA Venture Partners IV, L.P. He served as a Member of Advisory Board of Clayton Associates, LLC. He also served on the Board of Riverside Bancshares, Inc., where he was the largest shareholder. He served as a Director of Crawford & Company from 1996 to July 2005, Riverside Bank, NationsBank Corporation and Barnett Banks, Inc. He served as an Independent Director of Rentech, Inc. from November 18, 2009 to February 6, 2017. He served as a Director of Bank of America Corporation. He served as a Member of Advisory Council at Georgian Bank. He served as a Member of the Board of Advisors at Atlanta Falcons Football Club, LLC. He is the Founder and past Chairman of the Cumberland Community Improvement District. He served as the President of the Homebuilders Association of Metropolitan Atlanta. He has previously served on the Boards of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, the Atlanta Regional Commission, Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau and Post Secondary/Vocational Education. He was the Chairman of Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Metro Business Forum, Regional Business Coalition, Cobb-Marietta Coliseum, Exhibit Hall Authority and Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, serving two terms. During his career, he received 40 awards, honors and medals including being named Entrepreneur of the Year by both the Stanford Business School and Ernst & Young. He has also been given The Wall Street Transcript Chief Executive Officer Award for Commercial Real Estate and was named Chief Executive Officer of the Year by Financial World. He was inducted into the Georgia State University J. Mack Robinson College of Business Hall of Fame as well as the Georgia Institute of Technology College of Management Hall of Fame. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
