Mr. William J. Linehan, also known as Bill, has been the Chief Marketing Officer and an Executive Vice President of Red Lion Hotels Corporation since February 24, 2014. Mr. Linehan served as the Chief Marketing Officer of Sceptre Hospitality Resources, Inc. He served as the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Marketing Officer for Richfield & Sceptre Hospitality at Richfield Hospitality, Inc. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Richfield Sceptre, Inc. and served as its Chief Marketing Officer. His career spans over 25 years in the hospitality industry. His areas of expertise include brand leadership, brand strategy, marketing, sales management, strategic planning and new business development. Previously, he served as Managing Director of New Business Development at Hodges Ward Elliott, Inc. Throughout his career, he has held several senior-level positions including Principal and Executive Vice President of The North Point Group. Mr. Linehan served as Vice President of Marketing and New Business Development of Intercontinental Hotels Group plc (IHG) since October 2006. Mr. Linehan was responsible for developing marketing strategies and strengthening IHG's development positioning as well as identifying new business opportunities that grow the distribution of IHG's brand portfolio. Mr. Linehan served as Global Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Development Partnership at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. He worked for IHG as its Director of the New York City-based worldwide sales team. Prior to joining Starwood, Mr. Linehan was instrumental in the recent acquisition by Suburban Franchise System, Inc., which acquired the Suburban Lodge brand where he developed growth strategies that included a new identity and positioning for Suburban Extended Stay Hotels. He provided strategic planning and business development within the hospitality industry for Radiant Systems, a software solutions company. He tenure in hotel industry includes launching Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn for Six Continents Hotels where he created and managed the image, brand and market position of the brand. He also served in other sales and marketing roles with Hyatt, Hilton International and ITT Sheraton. He is the recipient of six Adrian Marketing awards and one Golden Bell Public Relations award from the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. Mr. Linehan received his Bachelor of Science degree from Johnson & Wales University and earned his International Executive Masters of Business Administration from Lancaster University in England.
